CAN J1939 with CCS

I am presently using CCS Compiler and need to use the J1939 protocol to communicate with an Natural Gas engine. Does anyone have an links that I should go to reinforce my knowledge of J1939 so I can make sure the firmware smarter then the what I am using from CCS that is for just CAN. Thanks
